Solo Practice — Quick Start

    Open Solo Practice. No account needed — just type an incident type, choose a difficulty, and click Generate Quiz.

    Read the briefing

    A realistic UK incident is generated with a Control mobilisation message. Read it, then click Start Quiz.

    Answer each question

    Each of the 12 questions advances the incident narrative. Answer before the timer runs out. The correct answer and explanation appear immediately after you submit — no waiting for an instructor.

    Review your results

    After question 12, see your total score and correct count. Click Show Full Review to go through every question with the correct answers and explanations — a structured debrief you can read at your own pace.

Instructor — Quick Start

    Register an account

    Click Instructor Login then Register. The very first person to register is automatically made admin — no approval needed. All later registrations need admin approval.

    Generate a quiz

    From the dashboard click + Generate New Quiz. Type an incident type (e.g. House Fire with persons reported, RTC — multiple vehicles, Industrial chemical spill) and choose a difficulty. The AI takes about 15–20 seconds to write 12 questions.

    Preview and create a session

    Read through the questions. If you're happy, click Create Session & Get Room Code. A 6-letter room code is generated (e.g. AB3KF7).

    Share the room code

    Display the room code on a screen or read it aloud. Players open the same URL on their phones or laptops and click Join a Quiz.

    Start the quiz

    Once everyone has joined, click Start Quiz. Question 1 appears on all screens simultaneously.

    Run each question

    Players answer before the timer runs out. When everyone has answered (or time is up) click Reveal Answer — the correct option highlights and the explanation appears. Then click Next Question to advance.

    Final results

    After question 12, click Show Final Results to display the leaderboard. You can also click End at any point to finish early.

    No account needed

    Players do not register. Just open the app URL, click Join a Quiz, enter the room code your instructor gives you, and type your name.

    Wait for the quiz to start

    You'll see a waiting room showing who else has joined. When the instructor starts, the first question appears automatically.

    Read the situation update

    Each question begins with a brief narrative update advancing the incident story. You are the Incident Commander. Read it, then answer the question before the timer runs out.

    Answer types
    Multiple choice — tap one option True / False — tap your answer Multi-select — tap all correct, then Submit

    See your result

    After the instructor reveals the answer, you'll see whether you were right, how many points you earned, and where you sit on the leaderboard.

Speed bonus: the faster you answer a correct question, the more bonus points you earn — up to 500 extra. If you answer with half the time remaining, you get roughly 250 bonus points. Answering immediately gets the full 500.

Admin — User Management

Approving instructors When someone registers they are placed in a pending state. Log in as admin, click Admin in the top bar, and click Approve next to their name.

Disabling accounts Admins can disable any account except their own. Disabled users cannot log in.
First-user bootstrap The very first account registered on a fresh installation is automatically made admin with no approval step. All subsequent accounts require admin approval.
Tips for Instructors

Regenerate freely If the AI generates a quiz that doesn't suit your group, click Generate Different Quiz on the preview screen to create a new one for the same incident type.
📱
No app install needed Players just need a browser. Works well on smartphones. Display the room code on a projector or TV screen for easy entry.
⏱️
Timer auto-advances If a player hasn't answered when the timer expires, the server auto-reveals after a 2-second grace period. You don't need to manually reveal — but you can click Reveal Answer early if you want to move on.

Use the explanation Each question has an explanation referencing UK FRS procedures. Read it aloud after revealing the answer to turn each question into a teaching moment.

Sessions are saved Your last 30 sessions appear on the dashboard. Click a completed session to view the final leaderboard again.
